MCC Huatian has been awarded first prize in the 10th Construction Engineering BIM Competition, organized by the China Construction Industry Association. The winning project, led by MCC Huatian, is titled *"Comprehensive BIM Application for the Feeding, Ore-Coke Slots, and Charging System of Fangchenggang Steel Base (Phase I) No. 3 Blast Furnace System."* This accolade is a strong recognition of MCC Huatian's technical expertise, high-quality project delivery, and continuous innovation in digital engineering construction.
The competition is one of the highest-level BIM events in China. After a rigorous selection process involving preliminary reviews, semi-finals, and finals, the judging panel awarded 108 first prizes, 213 second prizes, and 321 third prizes. This marks the first time MCC Huatian has received a nomination from China MCC and gone on to win such an honor, demonstrating the company's core competitiveness in the construction industry.
The award-winning project is part of the Fangchenggang Steel Base (Phase I) No. 3 Blast Furnace System, a key national project for strategic upgrading of the steel industry. Facing challenges such as a tight 365-day deadline, complex multi-disciplinary coordination, and data fragmentation for operation and maintenance, the project team developed an innovative digital delivery and digital twin solution. Highlights include:
1. A "hub-and-spoke" collaborative design mechanism and a self-developed "MCC Huatian Digital Library" with Dynamo parametric scripts, enabling real-time synchronization of process, structural, and electrical models.
2. 4D linking of BIM models with construction schedules on the "Huashu Construction" platform, plus optimization of lifting routes using drone oblique photography.
3. A standardized delivery workflow of "data cleaning – format conversion – verification and confirmation" on the "Huashu Delivery" platform.
4. Self-developed "Huashu Operation & Maintenance" platform, overcoming multi-source heterogeneous data integration and enabling deep fusion of 3D models with real-time PLC data.
Looking ahead, MCC Huatian will continue to drive BIM innovation and adopt new construction methods such as digital and green building to accelerate engineering digital transformation and support high-quality industry development.
