On February 9, the 1500m³ blast furnace renovation EPC project undertaken by MCC Huatian at Tangshan Songting Steel Co., Ltd. was successfully ignited, marking the official commissioning of the project. This significant milestone was achieved as planned, earning high recognition from the owner and relevant stakeholders, and demonstrating the company's comprehensive strength and high-quality execution capabilities in the field of metallurgical engineering technology.
Located in Qian'an City, Tangshan, Hebei Province, the project is a key initiative for Songting Steel in pursuing green, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly development while accelerating industrial transformation and upgrade. The main scope involves the renovation and upgrade of a 1500m³ blast furnace. Upon completion, the project holds significant importance for expanding Songting Steel's product radiation range, enhancing market share, and strengthening its steel industry presence.
As a concluding phase project, it involved extensive delineation and confirmation of construction scope, interfaces, and content. The project faced simultaneous cross-operations with numerous subcontracting construction teams, presenting significant challenges to construction progress, safety, and quality. Since project initiation, the company has maintained close attention, with leadership at various levels making multiple site visits for supervision and guidance. Throughout execution, the project team remained oriented toward owner requirements, strengthening objective management by utilizing tools such as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and progress chart tracking to break down complex project management tasks into actionable items. Special management measures including inverted scheduling and round-the-clock operations were implemented to clarify responsibilities and ensure milestone achievement. A communication and promotion mechanism was established featuring daily meetings, weekly reviews, and monthly summaries, leveraging collaborative office platforms for real-time information sharing to quickly resolve bottlenecks and difficulties in cross-departmental coordination.
