Recently, MCC Huatian was awarded first prize in the industrial and infrastructure category of the “2025 Jiangsu Provincial Survey and Design Industry Information Modeling (BIM) Application Competition” for its project titled “Scientific Diagnosis and Excellent Operational Energy Management Based on BIM Pipeline Network Modeling.” This achievement demonstrates MCC Huatian’s leading expertise in the digital diagnosis of complex industrial pipeline networks and the intelligent management of energy systems.
Against the backdrop of accelerated transformation and upgrading in China’s steel industry, the operational efficiency of energy pipeline networks in many older industrial sites directly impacts energy consumption and production safety. Taking a large steel base in Zhangjiagang as a demonstration case, MCC Huatian addressed real-world challenges such as large scale, complex pipelines, and multiple user points by integrating multi-dimensional digital technologies. The company completed detailed modeling and simulation analysis of nearly 70 kilometers of pipeline networks across the plant, establishing an energy diagnosis system capable of sensing, diagnosing, and optimizing performance.
The Industrial Environment and Energy Division responsible for the project brought together research talents with both innovative capabilities and market sensitivity to form a BIM technology research team. This team promoted innovation and digital intelligence in engineering construction, providing strong data support throughout the project lifecycle. The project independently developed a lightweight 3D platform and mobile inspection tools, enabling plant personnel to conveniently access models and locate issues even in offline environments. This effectively solved problems related to data silos and delayed responses in traditional management approaches. By creating a “digital twin” model of the steam system, the project shifted from “2D drawings” to “3D perception,” achieving millimeter-level replication of the energy pipeline network and pioneering digital pipeline diagnosis in the metallurgical industry.
Winning this honor once again is not only an important achievement in advancing the digital and intelligent transformation of engineering construction at MCC Huatian but also marks a solid step forward in empowering industry upgrades with new quality productivity. Moving forward, MCC Huatian will continue to use innovation as its engine, promoting the deep integration of BIM technology and energy management.
