On April 18, the relocation and transformation of the secondary dedusting station EPC project for steelmaking in Ma Steel’s long steel zone 2 undertaken by MCC Huatian passed the performance assessment and environmental protection acceptance, marking the official handover of the project for production. The project only took 100 days from construction to production, creating the shortest construction period for the secondary dedusting system for steelmaking of the same scale in China. The current dedusting system operates stably with good performance indicators. The emission concentration of flue gas and dust at the outlet is less than 1 mg/Nm3, which is far lower than the national standard (<10 mg/Nm3).

It is known that due to the industrial structure adjustment of Ma Steel, the plant expansion occupies the location of the existing dedusting station, so a new secondary dedusting station needs to be built at a new site to ensure the environmental protection requirements for the normal production of the workshop. The main content of the project is the design, supply, installation, construction, commissioning, etc. of the new secondary dedusting system. The cartridge filter is adopted for this project. The design air volume of the new secondary dedusting station is calculated according to the process of the newly built refining furnace, converter, and continuous casting facility.

The construction period of the project is tight. The demolition, "supply of water, electricity and road, and levelling of the ground", and other preliminary work are within the EPC scope. The civil excavation faces the rainy season. The owner prohibits hoisting and working at heights during holidays. The dedusting pipelines inside the steelmaking workshop are complicated. In addition, the project site is close to the converter gas holder, thus the safety risk greatly increases the difficulty of construction. In the face of so many difficulties, with the strong support of the Company's leaders and various departments, the EPC project team braved difficulties and obstacles, made elaborate organization and planning, raced against time in design and construction, and paid attention to coordination, and finally completed the construction for production in the shortest time, winning the high praise of the owner.
