It was learned from China Minmetals Group on December 17th that the second prize for technical invention was given by China Minmetals Group to “Research on and demonstration of technology and equipment for sensible heat recovery from crude gas of coke oven riser “of HUATIAN. “Profiled steel innovation team” of HUATIAN was honored as science and technology innovation team of China Minmetals Group. A scientific and technological cooperation award was given to the upgrading project of steel sheet piles in Jinxi Steel undertaken jointly by HUATIAN and MCC Tiangong Group Co., Ltd.

“Research on and demonstration of technology and equipment for sensible heat recovery from crude gas of coke oven riser “is a scientific and technological research project in Anhui province in 2018. The research and development was led by Wang Hao, chief expert of Energy Saving and Environmental Protection Research Institute and completed with cooperation from Anhui University of Technology and Maanshan Steel Co., Ltd. Targeted at the dead zone in energy saving in coking, technology and equipment for sensible heat recovery from coke oven crude gas was developed, the first in the world. Research was carried out in carbonization chamber on the mechanism for formation and evolution of carbonaceous sediment coking into carbon, revealing the coking mechanism of coke oven crude gas. In addition, non-stick coating material to prevent coking was developed and produced. This development solves the world’s technical problems like “coking and corrosion”, “graphite deposit”, “water leakage”,, etc. of riser evaporator of the coke oven and a model project for recovery of sensible heat from crude gas of two Nos. 6.0m coke ovens was successfully constructed in Baotou Steel. The result is that superheated steam produced is ≥100kg/t coke. For this achievement, 35 national patents are obtained including 15 invention patents. Four papers were published and in SCI/EI. One national standard was formulated and one item passed the science and technology achievement appraisal.
