On August 25, the 220 kV Main Substation of Zenith Steel (Nantong) Green Fine Steel Production Base, contracted by MCC Huatian through EPC, was successfully put into operation. This is the first construction project put into operation of Nantong Base of Zenith Steel, which lays a solid foundation for the construction of this base, provides a stable power for other construction projects and future development. The event also marks that MCC Huatian officially entered the 220 kV power transmission and transformation project market.

This substation is designed for six 180 MVA main transformers. Five sets of 180 MVA main transformers will be built in the current project, with voltage level of 220 kV/110 kV/10 kV. 220 kV transformer adopts duplicate-bus duplicate-segmentation connection, 110 kV transformer adopts two duplicate-bus duplicate-segmentation connections, and 10 kV transformer adopts single-bus segmentation connection. Currently, it is the user-side substation with the largest substation capacity in metallurgical industry. The substation is the "energy center" of all construction projects of Zenith Steel (Nantong) Green Fine Steel Production Base, and also the most important control project in the whole base construction. Therefore, since the commencement on November 2, 2020, the project has been paid great attention by the Owner.

Though there are many difficulties in the construction process of the project, the managers and builders of MCC Huatian have always strictly adhered to the spirit of contract, put the interests and needs of the Owner first, withstood the pressure and overcome the influence of various unfavorable factors, and ensured the order and smooth operation of the project through scientific management, procedure optimization and extensive use of effective means such as specialization, mechanization and informationization. Finally, the project successfully passed the fire control acceptance, electrical intermediate acceptance, completion acceptance and three times of power quality supervision, achieving the management goal of "high engineering quality, fast construction time and strong support ability", fully demonstrating the engineering management ability and unremitting pursuit of engineering quality of MCC Huatian as a "comprehensive Class A" design institute.
